Sainte-Adèle residence

We built this house in the summer of 2018. It is located in Sainte-Adèle, away from the village. It is LEED Gold and Novoclimat certified. It comprises 2630 sq. ft. on two floors, including the garage which is currently used as an entertainment and training room. On the first floor, there’s an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining room, plus a powder room and master suite. The garden level features two bedrooms, a full bathroom and laundry room. All credit for the wonderful arrangement of interior finishing materials and decoration goes to the owner, who has put a lot of effort into her project.

A heated screen porch

In the Laurentians, insects are numerous and present throughout the summer months, especially in the large wooded areas set back from the region’s villages. A screened-in veranda is a great way to enjoy the summer, while remaining safe from these troublesome visitors.
In this veranda, the ceiling was finished with pre-oiled white pine panelling. To maximize transparency, screens were installed at full height. To ensure safety, given the veranda’s height from the ground, a guardrail was integrated. A wood-burning fireplace completes the space, with access to the hearth for grilling and cooking.

Energy Star-certified windows

Sainte-Adèle’s windows are of the hybrid type: black aluminum on the outside and white PVC on the inside. They are double-glazed with low-e film and argon gas. The doors are steel, with the same type of glazing. All windows and doors are Energy Star certified, contributing to the home’s excellent energy performance.
Many of our family homes incorporate hybrid windows and doors of this type, as they also offer an excellent balance between quality, price, performance and aesthetics.

Exterior wood and stone cladding

The exterior cladding of the Résidence Sainte-Adèle is made of factory-stained, FSC-certified 6-inch spruce clapboard by Groupe Crête signature. Its luminous yellow color was used for both the moldings and the siding, making the fenestration stand out. Accents of stone and solid white pine complete the ensemble and mark the “chalet” style in the woods.

Heating and air conditioning

A 24,000 BTU wall-mounted heat pump provides cost-effective air conditioning and an additional heating source in winter. The home’s main heating is provided by electric baseboard heaters. An EPA-certified wood-burning fireplace provides comfortable, comforting radiant heat.

A sustainable, eco-friendly home

The Résidence Sainte-Adèle is LEED Gold certified. To achieve this, measures have been implemented in all LEED system categories: sustainability, energy performance, local sourcing of materials, materials with recycled content or FSC-certified, plumbing fixtures that reduce water consumption, healthy materials and superior air quality, and more.
