The Lac Constantineau residence is a prestigious 5,047 sq. ft. house, including a 930 sq. ft. double garage. A workshop has been planned in a secondary building of 905 sf. The house was built on a large flat plot of land, which made it possible to build it without a basement, on a slab. All living spaces are on the ground floor: three bedrooms and their adjoining bathroom, a large open concept kitchen with living room and dining room, a laundry room, an office and two mechanical rooms. A small gym has been set up on the upper garage floor. Heating of the house is provided by the water-glycol radiant slab as well as by a central heat pump with forced air distribution, which also allows the house to be air-conditioned.

The home has a sunroom, screened-in porch, three fireplaces, steam sauna and a large deck. The house has three bedrooms and a bathroom for each. Le Hameau
The Sainte-Agathe residence is one of those projects whose scale and complexity mark a builder’s career. First, the house features two imposing cantilevered sections: the screened porch on the first floor and the master bedroom upstairs. Visitors are immediately struck by the fact that these are literally two rooms “perched” in the air.
Then, comprising 4,420 sq. ft. on three floors, the imposing residence is built around a vast central open area from which two wings spread out. The result is a house that is far removed from typical residential architecture. From pre-project coordination to the final construction work, Écohabitations boréales invested more than a year of work to complete the project.
Gore
Tucked away deep in the woods, this pretty Scandinavian-style chalet offers its owners an escape from city life. Designed in a rectangular shape to fit in well with the steep terrain, it hoasts 1,800 sq.ft. on two floors, with a large open-plan living area on the first floor and three bedrooms on the garden level. The abundantly windowed south-facing facade offers spectacular views of Lac William and the surrounding mountains. The steel roof and colored door energize the house’s clean lines.

MILLE-ISLES
This waterfront residence is built on the shores of Lac Paul. This home is designed to meet the needs of a soon-to-be-retired couple: terrace, large open space with views, bedroom and full bathroom on the first floor, and additional guest rooms on the garden level. The house’s due south orientation, combined with a good building envelope and high-efficiency heat pump heating, contribute to its excellent energy performance.
Saint-Adolphe-D’Howard
Erected on a mountaintop, this contemporary home features a two-tone wood exterior. The windows are designed to maximize views ofnature, light and solar gain. Despite its small footprint, it features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan layout incorporating kitchen, living room and dining room.
P’tit train du Nord
This exceptionally well-situated chalet was built on the exact same site as the former three-season summer house, which had fallen into disrepair. This acquired right enabled the owner to build very close to Lac Raymond and the Petit Train du Nord bike path. A foundation specially adapted to the proximity of the water table was built. Despite its limited footprint, this cottage still boasts 2,130 sq. ft. over three floors. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining room.
Saint-Eustache
This dream home features an exposed timber frame that can be seen from both inside and outside the house. The cathedral-ceilinged first floor features a large open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen. The bedrooms and main bathroom are upstairs, as is an office area. The fully finished basement houses the guest bedroom, billiard room and full bathroom with laundry section. The house is heated and air-conditioned with a high-efficiency heat pump.
La Héronnière
With its angular and curved forms, this bold architectural project is unique in its genre. Its south-facing glass facade houses an indoor greenhouse. Photovoltaic solar panels, batteries, an EPA wood-burning fireplace, hydronic radiant floors and a biomass kettle keep the house running for several days in the event of a power failure. Particular care has been taken to eliminate all VOCs and electromagnetic fields, making this a true haven of tranquility and health.
