Barn wood: why do we love it so much?

The craze for barn wood continues unabated. Each plank is unique and has its own mysterious past. It’s impossible to reproduce this effect with new wood, since it’s weathering and the effects of time that stain and shape the wood.

Barn wood retails for between $5 and $12 per pc, and has generally been cleaned and fumigated beforehand. Boards come in variable sizes, and a color palette can be selected, such as shades of gray or brown.

Needless to say, we’ve used barn wood in several of our projects.
