The whole house has been reinsulated, from the slab to the attic. All windows have been replaced with Energy Star certified aluminum/wood windows. All the exterior siding of the house has been replaced with factory-stained wood siding. The entire roof has been resurfaced, the skylights replaced and the balconies and sidewalks rebuilt. All the mechanical parts of the building were also redone: an air exchanger was added, the electrical and plumbing systems were completely replaced and a heat pump was installed. The two masonry wood fireplaces were replaced by a new EPA-certified wood fireplace and a gas fireplace. Several rooms were reconfigured and remodeled: kitchen, bathrooms, basement divisions and the upstairs Juliet balcony. All floor coverings have been replaced as well as the stair railings. The wooden steps were restored on site and the original ceiling beams repainted.
